Why I were Purple

I wear Purple for Epilepsy,
Not to spread awareness,
Not to stand out,
And most of all not to make you sad.

I wear Lavender to make you smile,
For those whose memory is whipped,
For those who fall,
And for those who don't wake up.

I wear Purple for Epilepsy,
To say I'm not ashamed,
To say that I understand,
And to tell the world my feelings:

Because:

{ I have fallen and I have forgotten,
I was tired and slept,
I have woken up to unfamiliar ceilings and men in white coats,
And I know what it's like to feel helpless and scared. }

I wear Purple for Epilepsy,
To be brave,
To be supportive,
And to show I care.

Because:

{ I WILL walk the 5k,
Donate to MY foundation,
And I will support MY brothers and sisters. }

I wear Purple to make you feel safe,
In the moments you are alone,
In the moments your mind is broken.
I'll be there to help you back up.
